To begin, gather the following ingredients: one cup of long grain white rice, two tablespoons of vegetable oil, one small onion, one garlic clove, one cup of diced carrots, one cup of frozen peas, two tablespoons of soy sauce, one teaspoon of sesame oil, and one teaspoon of sugar.

To prepare the dish, start by cooking the rice according to the package’s instructions. Once the rice is cooked, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the onion and garlic and sauté for three minutes, or until the onion is softened. Add the diced carrots and frozen peas and continue to sauté for another five minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

Next, add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine. Then add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar and mix everything together. Continue to cook the mixture for an additional three to four minutes, or until the ingredients are evenly distributed and the rice is heated through.
