Nothing beats a homemade classic cake, and that’s why we’ve decided to share a simple white cake recipe. This vanilla cake recipe is easy to make and looks and tastes delicious!
To make this classic cake recipe, you’ll need:
– 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
– 1 1/2 cups sugar
– 4 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup milk
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centers comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in their pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
Once cool, frost with your favorite icing and enjoy!
