-2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder

-1 cup white sugar
-1/2 cup butter, softened

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9×13 inch pan or two 8 inch round pans.
2. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
3. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. Pour batter into prepared pan(s).
4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
